Quick context: Everything below describes each platform the way that platform describes itself, checked against its own site in September 2026. Where a row says None found, we did not find that feature publicly documented — not that it is absent. This category ships features fast, so confirm anything that decides your choice directly with the platform.
INDmoney is one of the most downloaded personal finance apps in India, and for a specific reason. It pulls Indian stocks, US stocks, mutual funds and other holdings into a single net worth view, largely automatically, so you rarely have to type anything in. It does that job well.
What it is not built to do is file your income tax return with a Chartered Accountant reviewing it first.
That gap — not weak tracking — is usually the actual reason someone starts searching for an alternative.
# Two different people search for this
Searches for INDmoney alternatives come from two places, and they want opposite things.
Some people want a more private, manual-entry tracker — no bank linking, nothing connected, everything typed in by hand. They are not looking for filing at all, and nothing in this article will help them.
Others are tired of running a tracking app and a filing app in parallel every year, exporting from one and uploading to the other. This article is for them.
# What INDmoney does, and where it stops
INDmoney positions itself as a money operating system rather than a single-purpose investing app. On its own site it describes tracking across US stocks, Indian stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, F&O, commodities, IPOs and NPS, the ability to track family accounts, and seeing your complete net worth in one place. Its US-investing depth is the standout — fractional shares and the surrounding tooling are better developed there than on most Indian platforms.
On filing, we found no ITR filing capability documented on INDmoney's own site. It lists income tax and salary calculators, but the return itself is not presented as something the app does.
So the honest description is: a strong tracker, where filing is somebody else's job.
One number we removed. A figure of "10 million registered users" circulates in comparison articles about INDmoney. We could not stand that up — INDmoney's own homepage states 20L+ investors. Registered users and active investors are different measures and both may be true, but we are not going to print a competitor's user count we cannot verify from their own material. It changes nothing about whether the app suits you.
# The two platforms that do both
# Quicko
Filing-first rather than tracking-first. Officially partnered with Zerodha, built around investor and trader returns, and it lists HUF as a dedicated offering on its own pricing page — one of only two platforms here that does.
Its tracking is transactional: capital gains, F&O and trade history assembled for the purpose of filing, rather than a standing net worth dashboard across every asset you own. If you want to open an app on a Tuesday to see what your household is worth, that is not what Quicko is for.
We cover it in more depth in our ClearTax alternatives comparison, alongside TaxBuddy and Tax2Win.
# VittSphere ONE
Bank statement and broker auto-import build the net worth view, and CA-reviewed ITR filing from ₹999 sits in the same account. A qualified CA reviews the computation before submission — not after, and not on a sample basis. Notice handling is included at no extra cost with paid filing, covering the assessment-level response including scrutiny under s.143(2). HUF is supported for filing and for formation — deed, PAN, bank account, ongoing compliance.
Being straight about the limits: the net worth view is built around Indian bank accounts, brokers and asset types. It does not match INDmoney's US-investing depth, and if that is your main requirement you should weigh it above everything else on this page.
# Side by side
Each row states what that platform documents publicly, as of September 2026.
| Platform | Net worth tracking | Tax filing | HUF |
|---|---|---|---|
| VittSphere ONE | Full dashboard — Indian bank & broker auto-import | CA-reviewed, ITR-1 to ITR-4, from ₹999 | Filing and formation |
| INDmoney | Full dashboard — strongest US-stock coverage here | None found | None found |
| Quicko | Transactional — capital gains and trade history | Yes, Zerodha-partnered | Yes |
None found means the feature is not documented publicly on that platform's own site as of September 2026 — not that it does not exist. Treat the column as a prompt to ask, not as a finding.
# How to decide in two questions
Is US-stock investing a significant part of your portfolio? If yes, INDmoney's depth there is real and hard to replace. Keep it for tracking and file elsewhere — that combination is perfectly sensible and plenty of people run it.
Does your return actually need a person to look at it? A salaried return with one Form 16 mostly does not. A return with capital gains across two brokers, F&O, an HUF, or a notice from last year mostly does — and at that point the export-and-upload dance between two apps is where the errors get introduced, not the filing itself.
If your household has an HUF, or should have one, that narrows this to two platforms immediately — the HUF eligibility calculator settles that question in about a minute. And if the underlying problem is that nobody has added the household up at all, start with building one combined family net worth view before choosing a tool around it.
